Points of Interest...

Mercersburg has a rich and interesting history. It is the birthplace and boyhood home of America's 15th President James Buchanan. It was a stopover on the Underground Railroad and was invaded by JEB Stuart during the Civil War. Local names like Conococheague and Tuscarora memorialize the Native Americans who once lived here. You can stroll the streets on a self-guided walking tour and enjoy the classic architecture of the Historic District. To learn about these stories and more, visit the Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce website.
